DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING
Lattice towers are designed specially by uSens engineers and wind-ice load assessments are conducted by Celal Bayar University Faculty of Civil Engineering in accordance with “Turkish Standard 648” and “Turkish Standard 498”. Three types of lattice measurement station are being manufactured differentiated by module weights, rod wire diameters and connection points. Station types and suitable zones are listed in the table below.

INSTALLATION
Proper installation of the meteorological mast is as important as the materials used for conducting a measurement campaign in compliance with IEC61400-12-1 standards. Variation from the boom orientations defined according to the expected predominant wind direction on site has to be kept minimum. Some of the parameters that should be considered during the installation are listed below:
- Variation between the boom orientation of the wind speed measurements at different heights should be kept minimum,
- Vertical alignment of the booms should be maintained,
- Distance of the sensors to the mast should strictly match with the predefined values,
- Proper balancing of the pyranometer should be maintained.
Highly motivated and well experienced uSens installation experts operates in accordance with OHSAS 18001:2007 occupational health and safety standards.
MAINTENANCE
Especially rod wired meteorological masts are sensitive to the seasonal temperature variations. The linearity of the mast could be disturbed due to expansions and contractions at different rates on rod wires. The brake on linearity of the station may cause; changes on boom orientations, occurrence of tilt on booms and moreover breakdown of the mast.
Depending on the tower type, the frequency of the maintenance visits should be decided to prevent the structural deteriorations and; increase quality and duration of the measurement campaign.
uSens team has vast experience with different types of sensors and data loggers which are used in the Turkish solar and wind energy market. Our experts can help you choose the best configuration that you need or you can ask us to offer the configuration that you have chosen. All devices are in compliance with Turkish State Meteorological Service and international standards (WMO, ISO, IEC, and MEASNET).

For lowering uncertainties calculated as a part of the bankable energy production assessment, attaining a reliable measurement campaign with minimum data loss is as important as the compliance of the measurement system to the IEC61400-12-1
standards.
Measurement data is checked for a period of every 3 days for malfunctions, hence troubleshooting of the errors are possible within a week after the malfunction occurs. Furthermore, detailed statistics reports for the measured parameters are prepared on a weekly or monthly basis.

Malfunction on the measuring equipment could be observed due natural conditions (e.g. lightning, high snowfall, landslides, extreme wind, vandalism and animals etc.). Site visit for solving the malfunction reported as part of the data management service is conducted within a week. A detailly documented maintenance report is provided for the maintenance conducted on site.
